The GIMP stores data and settings into $HOME/.gimp-2.6 directory(folder). This directory is created at first launch of the GIMP, and contains some subdirectories(ex. brushes, scripts, tool-options...).
For Macintosh user: The Gimp.app may use $HOME/Library/Application Support/Gimp folder instead of $HOME/.gimp-2.6.
For windows user: Generally, the .gimp-2.6 folder is created in the top of user profile folder. To show this folder, type "%USERPROFILE%" into Explorer's address box. If you installed starter kit of gimp-painter- (gimp-painter--2.6.x_yymmdd-n_win32_starter.exe), the .gimp-2.6 folder is created in gimp-painter-\home by default.
To install materials, copy the *.vbr files into .gimp-2.6/brushes directory, *.pat files into .gimp-2.6/patterns directory, and gimp-mixbrush-tool.presets into .gimp-2.6/tool-options directory. If you already saved any tool presets of Mixbrush tool, open the existing gimp-mixbrush-tool.presets with text editor(ex. gedit, notepad.exe) and append the lines included in new one.
brushesフォルダ内の.vbrファイルを$HOME/.gimp-2.6/brushesに、patternsフォルダ内の.patファイルを$HOME/.gimp-2.6/patternsに、そしてgimp-mixbrush-tool.presetsを$HOME/.gimp-2.6/tool-presetsに入れてください。
Windowsでgimp-painter-のスターターキットを使用している場合、.gimp-2.6フォルダはデフォルトでgimp-painter-\homeの中に作成されます。gimp-painter-\homeを削除または名称変更している、またはスターターキットを使用していない場合、一般的にはユーザープロファイルフォルダに.gimp-2.6フォルダが作成されます。エクスプローラのアドレス欄に"%USERPROFILE%"と入力すると該当フォルダに移動できます。
MacでGimp.appを使用している方は、ホームフォルダの直下に.gimp-2.6フォルダが作成される場合と、ホームフォルダ内のLibrary/Appication Support/Gimpフォルダが.gimp-2.6フォルダの代わりになっている場合とがあるので注意してください。
If you want to reset settings of Mixbrush except FG/BG colors, use this preset.

Corel Painterのティントカテゴリにある、標準丸筆バリアントに似た感じのプリセットです。
細目のチョーク（または鉛筆）風プリセットで、テクスチャパターンに反応します。必要に応じて不透明度やGrainを変更し、目の粗さを調整してください。
塗りつぶす力の強いプリセットですが、筆圧を軽くすると下地の色と混ざり合い、テクスチャによって多少のかすれ感が出てきます。
たっぷりの水で溶いた絵の具が紙に染み込むような風合いを出すのに便利なプリセットです。Solid NoiseやFractalのパターンを使用するとらしく見えます。

筆圧に反応する網点パターンを描画するプリセットです。テクスチャを使用しているので、Halftone (xx)というパターンが選択されていないと網点になりません。
色の境目を均すときなどに使う無色のプリセットです。

Works like Layer Eraser with higher pressure, and works like Water with lower pressure.
強い筆圧ではLayer Eraserのような効果がありますが、弱い筆圧ではWaterのような効果に変化するプリセットです。
